Little Creek Crossing

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I have my party, barbecue, family reunion, wedding, etc. at Little Creek?

Use of the house and grounds is limited to registered guests only. While we do not allow any type of party, event, or gathering (other than with registered guests), we are always happy to help our guests find the perfect site for their event. There are a number of GREAT local venues, many of them quite inexpensive - please call us and we will be more than happy to assist you with the planning!

How many people can stay at the house?

Ten people is the maximum occupancy. We do not rent to larger groups than that, but will be happy to help you find near-by accommodations for other members of your group. Please remember that anyone in the house or on the grounds must be a registered guest, unless written authorization is given.

Do you allow pets?

We do not allow pets in the house or anywhere on the grounds of Little Creek Crossing.

Do you allow smoking?

Smoking is not allowed at any time in or near the house.

What is your cancellation policy?

Vacation rentals differ significantly from hotels in that most reservations are made many weeks to months in advance, and there are no "walk-in" guests. Once your visit is reserved, we block that time off on our calendar and turn down all inquiries for that time period. It is very unlikely that we will be able to re-reserve in the event of a cancellation.
We charge a $100.00 administrative fee for all cancellations 30 days or greater before arrival. Cancellations made 30 days or less before arrival will incur a fee equal to the security deposit. We highly recommend trip insurance which can be purchased at www.insuremytrip.com.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is any time after 3:00 p.m. on the day of arrival, and check-out is before 11:00 a.m. on the day of departure.

How do we check-in?

We personally greet our guests at the house on the day of arrival. We are happy to work around our guests' schedules - just let us know when you want to meet and we'll be there!

Is Little Creek Crossing "family-friendly?"

It certainly is--we love having families come to stay with us! Little Creek Crossing is a FUN place for families. The Bunkhouse Loft has bunkbeds and a Playstation 2 gaming system with lots of games for the kids. There also are lots of board games, card games, and puzzles. The creek is a great place to splash around in, and the quiet country roads are the perfect place to ride bikes or scooters, or just take a walk. The media room has lots of family movies to watch, and there are quite a few kids' books, too!

When reserving, parents should be aware that the house is not baby or child-proofed. It contains stairs, blinds, and has an open 2-story loft which will require vigilant parental supervision, particularly of children under the age of five. There is also a "little creek" that runs through the property at certain times of the year. The creek is quite shallow most of the time but, again, children must be well supervised.

What do we need to bring with us?

Not much--just clothes, food, and personal items - everything else is there, including the kitchen sink! We provide all linens, dishes, towels, kitchen utensils, and a starter supply of paper products.

About 30 days before your arrival, you will receive a link to our Guest Information Book which has a list of "extras" you might want to bring - things like sunscreen, jackets, etc. The great thing about staying at Little Creek Crossing is that you do not have to bring much with you. We even have a laundry room, so you can truly pack light!

Is the security deposit refundable?

The security deposit is fully refundable provided the following conditions are met:
1. The house and grounds are left in similar condition to
which they were found upon arrival.
2. All perishable food and drink has been removed.
3. All trash has been bagged and placed in the dumpster
next to the garage.
4. The last load of dirty dishes has been started in the
dishwasher.
5. Kitchen counters, appliances, and refrigerator are wiped
down and clean.
6. Check-out time is observed.
7. No damage (beyond normal wear and tear) has
occurred.
8. There are no items missing from the home.
9. All guests in the home or on the grounds during the
rental period have been registered.
10. All policies in the rental agreement have been followed.
11. All windows are closed and doors are locked.

Do you charge a cleaning fee?

We do not charge a cleaning fee or any additional fees beyond the rental amount and the security deposit.

Why should we stay in a Lamoille vacation rental instead of a hotel or motel?

Many reasons! Here are just a few:

  • Room to spread out--- Little Creek Crossing is approximately 2700 square feet. The house is open, and yet there are several distinct gathering spots so families do not feel like they are tripping over each other.
  • Great way for families to bond--- Cook a meal together, go for a long walk on country roads, pack a picnic and head for Lamoille Grove or Lamoille Canyon.
  • Extra amenities---Guests love the wireless internet, professional kitchen appliances, gas barbecue grill, big screen TV, video games, board games, books, satellite TV, laundry room, and many other deluxe features you won't find in a standard hotel room.
  • Room for the kids to run--- Little Creek Crossing is situated on a big one-acre lot, with plenty of room for games of frisbee, football, hide and seek, tag, etc.
  • Cost effective--- Staying at Little Creek Crossing can be very cost effective when compared to a typical hotel stay. The typical traveler spends over $40.00 per day on food alone - imagine what an entire family can save just by dining in!
